ECOSCALE

Building tomorrow, responsibly today

At Quantum Loophole, we’re creating a greener future with a new approach we call Ecoscale. This innovative philosophy fosters a harmonious relationship between technological advancements and the natural world. Through our master-planned data center communities, we’re providing our customers a 10-year roadmap for future development that includes access to land, power, fiber and cooling water. Master planning also allows Quantum Loophole to dedicate land for a Nature Reserve, acting as a vital carbon sink and a buffer between humanity and industry. The Ecoscale approach meets the needs of today and transforms the future of our environment, our communities, and our customers.

LAND

Thousands of acres give our customers room expand as their demand grows. In the process, we’re rejuvenating ecosystems to benefit local communities and the planet.

POWER

We repurpose existing transmission lines and build up new infrastructure to ensure megawatt power is always available for our clients’ projects and our neighboring communities.

FIBER

We weave hundreds of thousands of fiber optic strands into new connectivity architecture. We’re providing customers with higher speeds and preparing our neighbors for the future.

WATER

Our data center communities are cooled by recycled waste water, limiting strain on natural resources and guaranteeing reliability without disrupting local ways of life.

Ecologically Balanced, Gigawatt Scale Data Center Communities

Quantum Loophole’s master-planned communities take the guesswork out of creating data center capacity. Incorporating power, network and water improvements into site development offers a new, environmentally sound approach. We’re reducing clients’ overall carbon footprint while fully enabling powered land to bare-metal server capabilities with the highest level of connectivity, reliability and security.

Our first project, Quantum Frederick, is connected to the heart of the global Internet by QLoop, a 40± mile hyperscale fiber ring connecting the 2,100+ acre development in Maryland to Northern Virginia’s Data Center Alley. A massive piece of invisible infrastructure, QLoop’s low-profile design runs over 200,000 strands of fiber beneath the Potomac to minimize environmental impact for our neighbors, while guaranteeing world-class speed and connection to providers.

“If future generations are to remember us more with gratitude than sorrow, we must achieve more than just the miracles of technology. We must also leave them a glimpse of the world as it was created, not just as it looked when we got through with it.”

Lyndon B. Johnson

The Nature Reserve at Quantum Frederick

We’re transforming a former industrial site into a forest with one million trees. The nature reserve will act as a buffer between the data center campus and community while improving air quality and offering recreational pathways.

QUANTUM LOOPHOLE TEAM

“We have re-imagined the way data centers can be developed in concert with natural resources, for sustainability within the industry and our planet.”
